Day 1

Rishikesh to Govindghat

Early breakfast in Rishikesh, then scenic drive along the Ganges via Devprayag (confluence of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda), Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandaprayag to Govindghat. Check into guesthouse, pack for the trek, and rest for the next day.

Day 2

Govindghat to Ghangaria

Trek from Govindghat — cross the Alaknanda on a suspension bridge and ascend through Pulna (3 km) and Bhuyandar (7 km) with waterfalls and lush forest. Arrive at Ghangaria, check into guesthouse, visit the local Gurudwara, and prepare for Valley of Flowers day.

Day 3

Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers & Back

Early trek from Ghangaria into the Valley of Flowers National Park — 4 km ascent through meadows carpeted with seasonal blooms (brahma kamal, blue poppy, and dozens of species). Packed lunch in the valley, explore and photograph, then descend back to Ghangaria.

Day 4

Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib & Back

Steep 6 km climb to Hemkund Sahib (14,200 ft) — sacred Sikh shrine beside a glacial lake surrounded by seven peaks. Visit the Gurudwara, lunch with mountain views, then descend to Ghangaria. The most demanding day of the trek.

Day 5

Ghangaria to Govindghat via Pulna

Descend the same scenic route through Pulna village to Govindghat. Check into guesthouse, relax after the trek, and enjoy a well-earned dinner.

Day 6

Govindghat to Rishikesh

Drive back to Rishikesh via Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Srinagar with stops for refreshments. Arrive by late afternoon or evening. Trek ends with memories of the valley and Hemkund.
